A step-by-step guide on how to use Clipboard
Getting started
Get familiar with how the app works
We’ve built in two types of demo records – single and joint. See how the factfind looks on each account type and what data you can capture. Use these to explore the different sections and functionality – from digital handwriting to LOA generation.
- On your app’s homepage, you’ll find the two demo records ( Demo Client, Demo Client 1 and Demo Client 2 )
- Tap on these and play around with the features as you wish
Add a new client
Create a new client record directly in the app
Following the transition to SJP’s Lead Management process, we’ve made some changes to the new client creation flow.
You can find more details at sjp-lead-management.
Please be aware that the Digital Clipboard service integrates directly into SJP’s new process. We do not control the responses from Salesforce once you’ve inputted a Prospect’s details. You may wish to contact SJP’s support team directly regarding any issues related to account ownership.
- Select the ‘Add New Prospect‘ button on the top-left of your homepage
- Select a ‘Single’ or ‘Joint’ record, tap ‘Next’
- Add the client’s name, tap ‘Next’
- Add the client’s contact details, tap ‘Next’ (NEW STEP)
- Select an option for ‘Source’, ‘Channel’ and ‘Initiated By’, tap ‘Save’ (NEW STEP)
- SJP’s new Lead Management process will check the client details you’ve inputted and return an outcome
- If you’re successful in creating the record, a new prospect record is also created in Salesforce
Add an existing client
Search for an existing client and pull their record in to the app
Joint clients
If you wish to work on a joint record, please ensure the two clients are connected by an advice record in Salesforce before searching on Clipboard.
- Tap in the Search box on the top-right of your homepage
- Type in the client’s name
- If the record exists, you will see it appear in the drop-down menu
- Select the required record and you’ll be taken to the client’s dashboard
Handwriting tool
Digital handwriting for natural data capture during client meetings
*You’ll need an Apple Pencil to use this feature
- Select the pencil icon from the toolbar at the bottom of the screen in any Notes section of the app
- Use your Apple Pencil to write on the lines like you would with pen and paper
- Once you’re happy to convert your notes into a typed format, simply use your finger (not the pencil) to double-tap on the text
- If you’ve made a mistake, you can use the erase, undo or redo buttons in the toolbar
Tip: Why not try using your Apple Pencil to ‘scribble’ out any mistakes / remove text and watch it disappear!
LOA generation
Pre-populate LOAs with your client’s data
- Add the required fields (Type and Provider) in the Assets, Liabilities, Pensions or Protection section
- A Letter of Authority will be pre-populated and automatically appears in the Letter of Authority section
- Your client can sign directly on the document using an Apple Pencil
Tip: If a provider doesn’t accept digital signatures, you can leave the document unsigned and email it as a PDF for a wet signature. Just click on the Email button in the Letter of Authority section and select the document(s) to send.
Sync to CRM
Save data straight to your backend
- Once you’re done filling in / updating a client’s record, tap on Sync & Exit on the top-left of the screen to return to your homepage
- This will automatically start the syncing process to your CRM. Please wait a moment for the sync to be queued (a few seconds). You can then carry on using / close the app as needed
Review meetings
Client reviews made simpler
- Select Summary
- Scroll through any data you hold on your client. Edit sections by clicking on the pencil icon – this will take you to that section of the app to update information
- Once you’ve edited the section, click on the Back arrow to navigate back to Summary
